Okutama-machi

Okutama-machi, the westernmost point of Tokyo. Mt. Kumotori(elevation: 2,017 m) is the highest point in Tokyo. Abundant hot springs, with four different types. Lots of ryokan inns, minshuku inns, and camp sites. Enjoy kayak on the Tama River or nature walks from JR Okutama Station.

We arrived at Hatonoshu (the train station in Okutama Town) at around 11 o’clock.

‘I had a wonderful meal at Hatonosu Kamameshi’s restaurant. It is the most traditional Japanese delicacy, O-i-shii-desu (delicious)!

After the meal, of course you have to go to the Okutama Visitor Center for a walk.

After that, I naturally set off towards the red leaf forest that I miss so much.
